Meet the Planner: San Ramon Valley Conference Center

Let’s kick this week off with a ride on the welcome wagon. Today we welcome Shannon Martin to the Sodexo Conferencing team. She is the newest member of San Ramon Valley Conference Center where she is a Senior Sales Associate. To get to know Shannon a little bit better, we asked her about her background in conference planning and her career highlights so far.

How did you get started in the conference coordinating industry?

I started working at a winery in Sonoma my senior year of college.  After I graduated I stayed at the winery and moved my way up to become the Tour and Group Coordinator.

How long have you been coordinating Conferences?

I’ve been involved in the events industry for 10 years.

What is your favorite part about working at San Ramon Valley?

My favorite part about working at the conference center is the team atmosphere amongst the employees and working with our awesome clients.

The Pickwick Gardens sales team has been traveling all over California meeting new brides. The ladies were at the Valencia Hyatt Bridal show showcasing the beautiful option of having a wedding at Pickwick Gardens.

While the gardens are the perfect location for weddings and bridal showers, they are also a big hit for quinceanera’s. Here is a quick snapshot of the booth at the LA Convention Center for the Teen Expo that our team visited at the beginning of the month.

Rocking Events at The Millennium Centre

We’re talking green meetings today, and not the kind that are green initiatives or sustainable. While our Sodexo Conferencing venues have these certifications, we are talking green events in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.

Check out the recent special event at The Millennium Centre where everything was green, even down to the enhanced trees and the photo booth props. The event was a fundraiser for the Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Venue Spotlight: Enchanting Pickwick Gardens

Festive New Year Event

The Millennium Centre kicked off the new year with a very festive event put on by the Mountain States Foundation.

The 2014 Spirit Gala benefited the Mountain States Radiation Oncology Services.

With over 400 people in attendance, the event was a huge success. The event committee did a great job of adding decor to the table and ceiling that brought a lot of color into the ballroom. We would like to thank the Mountain States Foundation for hosting this event at the Millennium Centre.
